Meet Emily Forbes, DNP, WHCNP, FNP

Emily Forbes grew up in the Midwest, proudly representing Wisconsin (Go Badgers). She embarked on her nursing journey at Winona State University, MN, earning her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Her thirst for knowledge led her to the University of Minnesota, where she completed a dual study program, obtaining a Master of Science in Women's Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP) and Healthcare Administration in 2009. Subsequently, Emily pursued further specialization, achieving a post-master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from Hawaii Pacific University in 2010.

In 2018, Emily attained the pinnacle of her academic pursuits, graduating from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Doctorate of Nurse Practice (DNP). Her doctoral thesis focused on reducing hospital readmission rates through innovative transitional care models for post-acute care needs.

Extensive Clinical Experience

With over 20 years of professional experience, Emily has honed her skills across multiple specialties, including Cardiology, Infectious Disease, Chronic Disease Management, Women's Health, and Wellness/Weight Loss Management.

Passion for Education

Emily's commitment to education is evident in her tenure as a nursing faculty at various institutions, a role she undertook during relocations as a military spouse. She remains dedicated to educating colleagues and empowering patients with knowledge.

Outside the Clinic

Beyond her medical endeavors, Emily is a sports enthusiast, tends to her farm animals, enjoys traveling, and cherishes time with her husband and three boys. Recently, Emily co-created a nationally launched medical trivia game titled "Who Calls the Shots?"—a testament to her innovative spirit.
